JamesM,

Lifetime warranty? Are you sure? I had my dirveshaft done by them in 1997.

A few weekends ago, I removed the entire rear suspension to replace all bushings and discovered the rear u-joint had a major flat spot.

When I called DLS of Portland, they never mentioned it has a lifetime warranty.

I sent the driveshaft to them on Monday. Do you think I should call them before they return it with a bill?

Douglas

My 535i driveshaft had a lifetime warantee. I don't remember what I did with the papers on my current M5 driveshaft, but I do believe it does have a lifetime warantee.

Did you already send it off? If not, you should be able to get the joint replaced at any atuo machine shop that can service u-joints. DLS removes the original joints and machines the yoke to accept a standard U-joint. You may even be able to order one from an auto parts store. DLS will know the size joint you need.

If you already sent it, I don't think it will cost much to replace that part. It's a quick R/R.

JamesM
