I asked DLS if I could replace the u-joints myself and they said no. They told me that the circlips they use are different thicknesses to center the joint. I suggested that I mic them and give DLS the measurements when I call to order the u-joint.
They told me it wasn't a good idea, so I sent the shaft to them. I'll let you know the $ when it's returned.
As for greasing the joint, I never did so I'm not upset that it failed. Just that it's not user replaceable.
Lastly, I see now that their ad in Roundel says 50k mile/5 year/labor warranty. Looks like you got lucky!
