Hi Bob,
When I bought my M5 both seats were dead. I went into the control box on the driver side and found a "lan" on the circuit board has burned up. It had been designed so that the lan was on the edge of the board. When the board was cut it took some of the meatl and ended up being cut too narrow to carry the current. I went in and soldered a jumper wire accross the gap. I never had another problem...and it was free...
