Hmm. I drove an E34 M5 with a brand-new updated (93-) clutch kit. Very light, engagement in a short amount of stroke (I like that), kind of like a switch. Engagement was not too high.
You can adjust the pedal on the E34 to adjust the engagement point, I think, but I could be wrong. Obviously, the hydraulics are self-adjusting until the disc wears beyond where they can hold the pedal position and then the pedal begins to rise.
Send on the pics, but I'm not looking for a trade with my E30s (also much loved!) as I drive around 100 miles/day on my commute and cannot have a high-maintenance car for it. Perhaps an E36 M3, but not an S38!

The clutch fells sorta shitty- feels like there is "one spot" to release at (hard to slip)...sorta higher than my E30's have been (wish there was adjustment...) I'm going to post a picture of the car here in a min...I may want to sell it/trade?? Just love my E30's too much! Car leaks more than it uses- (oil pan gasket has a small leak)- But, compression is 160+ in eash hole...whats this "Fahey Hub" about?? where is it,what does it do???
take a look at the pics...and let me know what you think? (keep in mind the 269,000 miles!!)
Thanx
Chris~
