I'm about to buy H&R springs and Bilstien Sports myself. BMP has a shock/spring package for about $800.

Having changed the suspension on my Dad's M6...The front of the car is much easier to work on than the rear. You have to take the rear seats and deck lid out to access the bolts that hold the shocks to the shock towers. Your life will be much easier if you do it with a friend. With regards to the SLS...you will have to eliminate it with a kit. I'll find out more when I do it again on this car.
