Some of the guys from the e28 board and I went to the Bimmerfest West in Santa Barbara today. What a beautiful day for a car show- sunny-- 70-72 degrees J right next to the Pacific Ocean.

There was a caravan from San Diego (22 cars) that met with us in Orange County (20 cars) then we drove to LA to meet 38 other cars! And then we drove to Santa Barbara to meet oodles of bimmers-all kids, talk about bimmers hugging the LA freeways!

However, there were only two e28 M5s, a guy from Santa Barbara (BTW- he is selling it) and mine. I am happy to report, that in spite of all those 2002s M3’s and M5’s and even a Z8 (some with $$$$$$ added on mods), the e28 M5 is a cult and still turns heads!!
There is a handful of followers and admirers of 88-M5s, and others have no idea.

John from the e28 board is already posted some pictures of the event, if you are interested.

The host of the event was Cutter Motors-Santa Barbara. They did an excellent job managing the event, and even fed us all!

Armando

There was a third E28 M5 there for a couple of hours but the parking lot was full by the time I got there!
Was yours the black interior car? Both were in amazing condition....

Tim
