I have heard that there is a heat shield between downpipe #1 and the AC compressor. Typically all M5s start to develop a rattle and the shield is often removed (mine is gone) So far it has not been hot here and my AC works fine. but I have been warned. If anyone know the part number for this shield let us know. I would like to order the correct part. Let me know if youhave this shield in place.
My ac compressor has started to cycle on and off, especially as the outside temperature gets higher. I just recharged it with freon, so I assume that is not the problem. I gather the evaporator temperature sensor (regulator?) is a likely culprit for this type of problem. Has anyone had any experience with this? According to the Bentley manual, this part is up in the center console somewhere. How difficult is it to access?
