If you have no hoist, a trick I've used is to park under a tree (or a building but it should be heavier than a garage rafter) and use a "come-along" hand cable winch ($25) on the lifting loop. Park so the cable clears the hood and go to it.

i have the bentley so it looks straight forward. i need to replace the gasket. now what is the size i need for the torx bolt. can i get this at a regular auto parts store. also it looks like i have to loosen the bottom part of the power steering pump and ac condensor. is this so. what else should i look at to remove it and what other parts should i replace since im in there. car has 160k and runs awesome.
