The m5 engine already lives on the edge of detonation. Adding any appreciable boost is hard to do with out lowering the compression ratio. You also need a better engine management system that reads the manifold air pressure and adjusts accordingly.

These things are not done cheaply. One mistake and you have a $10,000 engine rebuild on your hands. Ask me how I know! My mechanic, working over the phone with Dinan, reconfigured my fuel regulating system. 10 minutes after I picked up the car, my head gasket was toast.

Go add boost to a 535i. The M30 engine is perfect for this.
