7" Euro light hook-up (archive)

I'm installing the European headlights and it appears the low beam (7") is meant for low beam ONLY (no high beam connection on the stock plug, only low and city light) and the high beam has a cut off or shield unlike a regular H1. Now from memory of the movie Ronin, the low beams stay on all the time and when you activate the high beam, only it lights up. Is this right? And if so how do I wire it up? I was going to put relays in for better voltage and place a diode between the low and high circuit to keep the low beam relay energized when using the high beam due to it's cut off. That will work but how was it stock euro style? And the warning LED in the car will get triggered so how so I fix that too?

TIA,
Brian
