Hi Kiran, You could try checking your fluid level, but it sounds like either your front band or the one way clutch has gone unfortunatly!

BTW, no M5 had auto transmission, do you have an M535i?

Are you in the UK? If 'yes' where are you, because I have a 528i Auto (4 speed switchable) parts car which you can HAVE once I've removed the last few parts I want from it! It has a good engine & box, the box is the same as the one in the M535i.

Hello all,

Anyone shed some light on what could be wrong with my 87/M5, it is a sports switchable automatic, the problem I have is that it will not move in Drive or gears 1,2,3 but it does move in reverse.

This problem just occured overnight, it gradually stopped moving in Drive I had to rev it alot just to get it to move then it just stopped moving no matter how many revs I gave it.

Please help!!

Thanx in advance!

Regards

Kiran UK//M5
