Oh, & BTW., all Euro cars have front indicators that go BRIGHT off BRIGHT off... Sounds like you've a wiring fault somewhere (earthing?) if they go BRIGHT dim...!

The cars shown are UK spec. cars. There isn't one 'Euro' spec for exterior lighting, Italy has it's own rules, Scandinavian countries have their sidelights on (=city lights?) whenever the ignition is on & until about ten years ago, French cars had yellow headlamps.

Note: 'sidelights' are NOT the same as US sidemarkers, European cars don't have side markers as such.

However, most 'Euro' lights are very similar to UK ones and are (switch positions):

1. off.

2. Front sidelights/citylights on, rear licence/number plate lights on, rear sidelights/tail lights on. Instrument panel lights on.

3. As 2. above, plus outer 7" dipped beam on. (If the front sidelight is built into a headlamp, it may extinguish. If seperate, it'll stay lit).

4. (controlled by dip-switch). As 3. above, plus outer 7" Main beam on and inner main beam on. Switching is usually aranged so that the outer dipped beam goes out.

Hope that helps!
