They don't often break and most people don't have it replaced at such an interval.

If it's not noisy and the timing sprockets look good, your OK. My car has 178K and the timing chain/sprockets have never been replaced. A lot of people will replace the guides and tensioner before they'll replace the chain and sprockets.

It's your judgement call, but I wouldn't do it.

I've heard it's prudent to replace your timing chain before reaching the 150k milestone.I've also heard(usually from sellers of 115k-170k M5s)"Oh,I had that checked & it looks fine.so I left it alone." What's the real deal
