I need something more comprehensive on the S38 engine. I'm about to start a rebuild project, so I want more specific info. I already have the Bentley, Haynes, and Chilton Manuals. I also have the Bosch Fuel Injection manual, and the BMW ETM. Something like a factory service manual would be great, even if it's a photocopy. If there is some software out there that has good S38 related info, that would be great too.

Any additional reading material regarding technical service and engine rebuilding for the S38 would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Ethan

Contact Schiff European Automotive Literature. They can get you the manual for the M6 motor (same as in the M5). BMW apparently never produced an M5-specific manual.
