If you talk with Pete McHenry, he'll tell you to put the s14 pistons in which raise the compression to around 10:1 IIRC. Then you use a crank from a e34 535 to increase the stroke. Don't remember exactly how much, but I think it was to around 3.7L.
As always, YMMV, and no I don't represent Pete in any way, he's just a great M guy.

Thought I would be the one to initiate a great topic on behalf of Ethan.

Ethan mentioned building a stroker engine with Frank Fahey. Personnaly I would love to have more power, or even a stock rebuild, but why go through the cost of a new crank, milling the block, connecting rods, pistons... the whole bit. Why not just open up the head with good porting, maybe cams and a few other mods.

What are the advantages to stroking it ! You know what I mean.

Philo.
