A follow up question. I traced out the system wiring forward as far as under the back seat. This morning, I discovered that two wire color codes were switched at the six-pin gray connector under the back seat (this connector goes to the "switch" linked to the sway bar, which you indicate is a potentiometer and mercury limit switch). At this connector, BRN-BLU from the "switch" is at pin 4, and goes out as BRN-GRN on the other side of the connector. Similarly, BRN-GRN from the "switch" is at pin 3 and goes out as BRN-BLU from the connector. Question is: Is this color code transposition at the gray connector under the back seat normal or was the connector miswired at the factory? I haven't figured out if the transposition makes sense, yet, but your info will help.
2) Do you have a pin-out and internal schematic for the "switch" connected to the stabilizer bar unde rthe car? At the gray connector SWITCH-SIDE I have the following colors
PIN COLOR Comments/guesses
1 GRN-WHT goes out as GRN-WHT forward and GRY- WHT aft to pump connector pin 6.
2 BRN System Ground from pump connector pin 2
3 BRN-GRN goes out as BRN-BLU to pump connector pin 1
4 BRN-BLU goes out as BRN-GRN to 30 bar switch at hydraulic T-connector, then from the other side of that switch to pump connector pin 3, then to the 115 bar relief valve.
5 GRN-RED Goes forward, system power???
I'm getting a sense of how the system works, but that color code transposition at the gray connector has me bothered. Does anywone else have this transposition? Knowing what GRN-WHT and GRN-RED wires are (from the forward-going wiring harness under the back seat) would help, too.
I guess from your description that BRN-BLU (pin 1 of 6 pin connector at pump assembly) is the "PUMP" signal wire (grounds 40 Amp relay coil to provide power to the hydraulic pump) which can be inhibited by the 115 bar, normally closed over-pressure limit switch on the pump housing. "OPEN SOLENOID" must be BRN-GRN (pin 3) which can be inhibited by the (under or over?) pressure 30 bar switch at the hydraulic T-connector.
GRY-WHT or GRN-WHT is power to the 40 Amp relay coil, (via pump connector pin 6) and goes to the "switch" via gray connector pin 1.
RED-YEL high amp power to the pump (pump connector pin 4).
BRN is system ground, the high amp line taken to a common chassis ground under the back seat (pump connector pin 2).
Anyone care to confirm this? All input appreciated. I think from your description the SLS does nothing in cornering, yes? It just accounts for loading and deflections during heavy acceleration and braking. Am I reading you right? Thanks, Joe
