Heated seats not heating (archive)

Anyone troubleshoot this before? I've had the car for about 1 1/2 years now, and it is equippped w/ heated seats, but they've not worked since I bought it. Any thoughts? The driver's side left rib bolster is torn, but the rest of the leather is intact, although needs a Leatherique treatment. Thanks.
