Just got the call that my car is ready to be picked up. Yeah..., I know, I had someone else do the work for a project that I could have done in my sleep. Let me explain, I have a buddy that owns a brake parts distributorship and he, like all good friends should, said "just drop the car off and I'll call you when it's ready." All new rotors, pads, SS lines, and rebuilt calipers. He also painted the calipers black which he says looks awesome.

After reading a post a while back on rebuilding calipers, some saying this was very difficult, and the fact that the caliper bolts are TTY and should not be re-torqued, by buddy said Bull*S*. They do 20 pairs of monoblock / split type calipers a day with no problems. When I pushed him on the TTY data though he had no solid answer. I feel safe with his work and expertise, he does many racing rebuilds. He also owns and races a McClaren Can-Am car.

Lastly, should I upgrade to the 540i rear calipers. My buddy says you will no major difference with around town driving.

Can't wait to try the new setup.
