I love a good debate, I've been trying to get my brake buddy to join in on some of the "Bigger Brakes are better" discussions on this board. Here's his last comment regarding the 540 rear upgrade.

Do not change the rear brakes. After reading the clips (post from Roadfly)it makes more sense to me. By changing the rear calipers to 40mm pistons from 35mm you are changing the front to rear bias in the car. The rear brakes should never do more work than the fronts. (The guy said his rear rotors were hotter than the fronts) It sounds like under light to moderately heavy braking the car feels more stable. It feels more stable because the rear brakes are coming on first. The feeling is an illusion that can get you into real trouble. What will happen is that you will brake heavy while going into an off camber corner and you WILL spin. You will loop the car.
