I think that adding the tri-color stitching is a worthwhile addition that will ultimately give the plain looking steering wheel a more contemporary look, without taking away from the cars originality. If you decide to do the tri- color stitching I would be interested to see the final results. On the M registry you can see pictures of the tri- color detail.
