I happened to be driving down an alley behind a used car lot and happened to see through the fence what appeared to be an M5 mixed in amongst the crappy cars sitting in the back. At first I thought it was probably a phoney, but I figured it was worth a look anyways. When I came around to the front and walked to behind the lot I got an upclose look at it. It was definately a real deal ///M5. Black with original M5 wheels, tan interior, ///M gauge cluster, sport seats with little ///M emblems in them. I wrote down the VIN and when I just got home now I looked it up and found it is the real thing. Now for the details... The paint supprisingly looks good, wheels are good, interior is fair. Has about 144,000 miles on it. The only things missing were the rear spoiler and radio antenna, both looked liked they were removed for parts.

So my question for you guys are what should I look out for on this car? I already own an '86 528e. So most electrical things I already know about. Also how much would you think this car would be worth? The car has been sitting for at least 2 years (very very dirty and plates expired in 12-2000). I haven't had a chance to talk to the owner about it yet so I don't even know for sure if it's even up for sale or not. I'm hoping I'd be able to buy it cheap enough and fix it up a little and have a nice ///M5 to add to my stable. Thanks in advance.
