Procedure is excellent but pay particular attention to the conditions of the needle valves on each throttle body and the holes they fit in to. It is likely that they arte gunked up so setting the vacuum with they in a poor state will be a waste of time.
Cleaned mine out thoroughly, set the vacuum as per the posted procedure and had a much improved idle. Just passed MOT (UK) with 1.5% CO and 120 HC. These are figures for a non cat car and are well within spec. Before cleaning the needles and setting things up CO was 4.5% HC 800 - not good combustion here I think.
