Are you sure it's the head gasket, could be your cam tray. If so, ask Frank Fahey which type of RTV to use to seal it after you remove it. He claims there is only one sure sealant to use, but for the life of me I can't remember which one it is.

In order to figure out cast, we need more info, IE. how many miles are on the clock, how is your compression (give us all six numbers), what is your leak-down variance %, has your timing chain been replaced, have your timing chain guides been replaced , and has your timing chain tensioner been replaced?

Knowing these variables will better let us know the overall internal condition of your engine and thus yield a more accurate $ estimate.

Also, it might be time for a little head refreshment while you have it apart.

looking forward to knowing a little more,
Ethan

Anyone had a head gasket replaced? Mine is leaking down the front of the engine block and I was wondering what it'll cost me. Thanks
