I have heard horror stories of people messing up their Master Cylinders because they bled the system by pumping to pedal to the floor. Over time, corrosion developes in the cylinder. It builds on the rod. When the pedal is push farther than normal, it could break a seal or cause the corrosion to come loose and cause damage... Just what I have heard.
