I'm very close to acquiring an '85 Euro spec grey market M5 here in the US (my dream car). The car does have a salvage title which I'm trying to look into. It has only 104k on the clock, and sounds like it's been well taken care of over the last 10 years (apparently it was in a dealer showroom for 8 of the last 10). The current owner has been using the car as a daily driver for around the last 2 years, so I think anything as far as failing engine seals (breaking from lack of use -
being showroomed and all) should have shown up by now.

The car is situated in Atlanta, and I'm in FL, so I can't look at it just yet, but are there any really M5 (especially grey market M5) questions I need to be asking before I trek up there to take a look?

As I understand it, it probably underwent some really low quality DOT work in order to make it comply with US standards to make it legal. - What should I look for?

No OBC, manual sport seats, ABS apparently doesn't work (he's not sure why.. think it might just be a sensor of some sort), sunroof/windows/door locks all work. Diamond black, full buffalo leather interior.
The VIN is WBSDC 91080 1018034. Have any of you Atlanta guys seen/looked at this car?

Thanks much!

Glen
86 535i 148k (hopefully soon to be Euro M5!)
