Ian,

I believe the stock U.S. cam is 260 duration and 9.? lift.

The Shrick 272 cam on a U.S. motor is not an easy install unless you have the head apart.

Unless you can cut the top of the valve stem, you will need to install valve lash caps. Also, the caps will have to ground to fit within the range of shims available for this engine.

I have seen the 272 cam that Jon Kofod has available and it is in new condition. He didn't mention it in his post but I believe he has the lash caps also.

FYI - the cam sells for $950.00 USD and the caps are another $140.00 USD. I bought these new just before I found out about Mr. Kofod's cam being available. Never fails, right?

You can e-mail me directly if you have any questions about the installation of this cam in a U.S. S38 motor.

Good Luck!

Douglas
