I have been changing the engine in my wife's 72 with one from a 74...The diagram in the Hemmings Motor manual shows that the retard side is hooked up to a set of solenoids that are hooked up to the EGR valve...I have plugged the retard side and so far everyhting has been okay...Let me know how it goes...
