I recently took my '75 3.0si to Midas muffler and they quoted a complete Exhaust system at more than $1400! Where can I get exhaust parts? I only paid $650 for the car, I'm not going to spend more than double that for just the exhaust. I would appreciate any help you guys could give me. thanks.

Dylan,

I am just doing an exhaust system replacement on my '76 3.0si and I understand your dilema. Here is how got around the problem of cost.
I purchased two front downpipes from allbmwparts.com and also the center pipes and resonator. Not to terribly costly. Now onto the rear muffler. This thing is absolutely a joke!! Costs range anywhere from $260 to $500 if you can even find it. I got an answer to an earlier post I made on this board and I am installing a rear muffler from a '76 '77 530 for about $80.00. Quite a difference!!
Good Luck....and installation is easy!

Regards,

Tom in PA
