I recently took my '75 3.0si to Midas muffler and they quoted a complete Exhaust system at more than $1400! Where can I get exhaust parts? I only paid $650 for the car, I'm not going to spend more than double that for just the exhaust. I would appreciate any help you guys could give me. thanks.

Dylan,
I just got done installing that '76 530 muffler on my '76 3.0si and it went as I expected.
I ended up having to cut both ends off and rewelding them shorter. I took the 'ess' bend off of the original muffler, as it was not too bad, and rewelded that on. The other end just got shortened.
I had to rework the rearmost hanger to use the rubber donuts, but thats all.
All told, I had about an extra $50 in labor and parts to adapt the muffler. Well worth the effort considering the cost of a replacement.
Hope this helps someone else out there on the board.
Regards,

Tom M
