I am helping a friend out with an old Bavaria . The problem is when the car is shut off and the turn signal is pressed the corresponding right or left parking lites come on . (not flashing) the only thing changed was a new emergency switch was put in . The one piece harness to the connector is gone but there are 12 or so loose wires that were attached to the emergency switch Maybe they are not on the right contact?? thanks

In europe, some localities have laws that require that a light at the front and rear of the "street" side of the car be left on overnight when parked on narrow roads. That's the feature you have discovered on the Bavaria. It's designed to work that way. That's why they are called "parking lights".
