Anyone: I MIGHT pick up a Bavaria (hopefully VERY cheap) that I am told runs good, but needs a new transmission (automatic). Here are the barrage of questions: How interchangable are the automatics from later E12's (and E28's, for that matter). Is a 5 speed converson pretty straightforward? Again, how about interchangablilty? I'm guessing that most six's attach similarly (is that a word?) As luck would have it, I have located at least 2 wrecks that can provide the necessary E3 parts. I'm guessing that these needed E3 parts will be the interior console parts. Please correct me if I'm wrong in these assumptions about using E12 and E28 parts to accomplish getting a running car. Thanks in advance.
