Interiors for Bavarias are not that hard to come by from what I've seen (in fact if you like black, I can probably get you have the parts you'd need, for example).

People convert them to manual 4 or 5 speeds pretty regularly. Many mechanical parts are interchangeable with early fives and sevens.

They are, in the end, very rare cars. People just want CS's instead I suppose, which is sad because Bav's should be worth more than they are.

Anyhow, I'd say go for it if you can and if he will do the right thing and practically give the car to you.

Hey, I'm over from the e21 boards. I've been given the oppurtunity to buy a 1972 Bavaria. The tranmission is locked up (automatic), body needs paint with only minor surface rust, engine runs great, and the interior is shot to pieces. What is something like this worth? They are rare cars right? How much would you offer the guy? Any input into this matter would greatly be appreciated.
