I haven't done this yet but have found the following: Company - Sensor Solutions, (970-453-1850) makes a Hall Effect Switch. Basically, this is a magnetically activated device which provides a digital output signal that can be used to operate an electronic speedo. I have not yet talked to anyone that can provide a schematic to take the signal to the speedo. North Hollywood Speedometer comes to mind. You will have to fit the electronic speedo from a later vehicle into the cluster but that shouldn't be tough. I'll keep you informed. Try www.sensorsolutionscorp.com for info

Ben,
How are you going to do the speedo drive? I would like to swap out a 3spd auto for a 4spd auto but haven't figured out how to make the it work.
Thanks
