A 38/38 will work as well as the 32/36. The difference is that a 38/38 works both barrels together while a 32/36 has a primary/secondary setup and each barrel comes online as more fuel/air is needed. Bottom line is that the 38/38 will give you a little more power if your engine is modified to need the additional air/fuel, but the 32/36 is going to give you fuel economy without any real sacrifice to power. I am running a pair of the 32/36s on my modified E3 and am pleased with the setup.
I'm looking for some suggestions on retro-fitting some carbs on my '73 E3. I understand the Weber 32/36 would fit with additional linkage. I would rather not change intake manifolds unless it was an easy swap. Would the Weber 38/38 work? What others would work and what benefits/draw backs are associated?
