Not flame bait, honest. I want to know. Why are some BMWs the big whoopty-doodle while little attention is paid to the Bavaria?

I think for the same reasons many people have about the e23 7 series vs the e24 6 series. Four doors...agree an 02 is more fun on a track but no way would I take it on a two week road trip.
