I have a 74 Bav with a BW auto tranny. Has anyone converted an auto to a stick? I guess a donor Bav would work but will any other 5 speed tranny from another model fit with not too much fabrication? Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could convert to the Getrag 262 4sp or Getrag 265 5spd. The seniorsix.org website has a FAQ section which runs through what you will need to do; however, this section was going through changes this week and was not loading.

Which model and year can those tranny's be found in?
Will I need EVERYTHING? Drive shaft, universal joints, wiring, clutch slave etc...?

I found the print out I made on the conversion. If the SSR website isn't up email me your fax number and I'll send you a copy. This is an 8page how-to convert with what you need to convert. My email is jhmasseymba@yahoo.com. At www.metricmechanic.com they have a Getrag identification chart to identify what cars have the transmissions your looking for. I found it to be cheaper to buy a parts car then buy the transmission seperately. You get the extra parts you need to do the job.
