AT 3HP22 30MM nut? (archive)

I just replaced the automatic in my '76 3.0Si with a used one and it works great except the rear seal leaks. In order to change it, I need to take off the 30MM (at least I think that's the size) nut on the end. The only deep sockets I found that size are impact and the walls are to thick to allow the socket to enter the cavity where the nut is.

Does anyone have a solution?

PS There is a small leak by where the speedo cable connects as well. I think I can use silicone glue on this. Funny that there was no rubber O ring on the old or the replacement.

Frank.....
