I just recently bought a 69 2500 automatic. I got it pretty cheap because it needs some work. The tranny makes a whining noise going from 1st to second and if there is much torque put on it it will slip. the seller told me that something needs to be tightened, it seems minor but I'm sure it would be expensive. I have heard negative things about the automatic transmission,("worst ever tested"), so before I get it fixed I'd like to find info on a conversion to a manual. The only site that I have found that has this info seems not to be working. I'm really wondering about cost of conversion and the feasability of finding a doner car. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

At www.seniorsix.org they have directions for the conversion but it is not working right now. I have a copy that I could fax you. I believe there was a Bavaria in the Newark Pick-n-pull with a 4spd. You'll want the driveshaft, tranny, cross member, shifter (with interior parts), clutch slave & master & hose, pedal assembly, brake/clutch resevior. I also know of a guy with two Bavaria's but have no idea of what type of trannies are in them. I think he is in the Sonoma county area. I'll look for his email latter.
