I have an 88 735i with front end noise. After checking the front end for looseness and noise ,I found nothing .This car had 350 000km. Steering is fine and tire wear is fine too. What I did find was a rattle noise when I wiggled the steering box shaft at the universal joint. The joint was tight but the noise came from the slop inside the steering box. It is the same noise I hear when I hit a bump in the road. I had the wheels off the ground with the key turned so the steering lock was off. What would be the best thing to do first to eliminate this noise and sfree play ??? Thanks very much in advance, Ralph
