I was wondering the same thing about my 3.0s. So is it on a timer so it doesn't need to stay in or what?

Paul,

It should be for the rear window defroster.

What is the function of the big yellow button next to the emergency flasher button on the lower right side of the steering wheel fascia board? It is identical to the size and shape of the flasher button, except it does not stay "in" when you push it- it does lite up though. A 72 Bavaria by the way. Thanks
