1. are you sure it is the head gasket, or is it the valve cover gasket? if it is the gasket between the part where you add oil and the lower part of the engine, it is the valve cover gasket, which is easy to clean/replace.

2.?
3.they are already wired on relays. the low beam relay is on the driver's side wall near the left headlight. there is a transformer looking thing, and 2 identical relays. 1 is the horn 1 is the low beams. the high beam relay is on the opposite wall near the right headlights.

Hey guys... I just bought a 1973 Bavaria, # 3133080, riviera blue with automatic. I have a few questions about the obvious repairs that I think are necessary

(1) The head gasket seems to be blown and/or the head is leaky - is it cheaper and better to fix this, or just toss in a "new" used engine?

(2) the front bumper has been pushed downward and rearward (i.e., hit), about 4-6 inches below its intended position. How is this fixed, and what is it likely to cost, ballpark?

Also - do these cars need to have the headlights re-wired on relay circuits (like the CS coupes), or did they come with relays from the factory?

Thanks - GD
