Help! Water leak, drowning (archive)

Have a 85 318i 2 door. For some reason when it rains water is puddling, yes about 1/2" deep on the rear florboards under the carpet. It is directly behind both seats, under the carpet. The top of the carpet doesn't get wet but it sure does underneath. Anyone, PLEASE, any ideas where this is coming from?
