If you read into the archive, you'll find that many owners of E30 auto trannies had theirs go out on them between 100K and 175K . . some had symptoms, others not. When I had to replace the transmission with a re-manu one (came in a nice wooden crate from Germany), it cost me $2100 installed (SF Bay Area). I was just about to accelerate up a ramp onto the freeway, and then the revs shot up to 5K, but I wasn't going anywhere. Tried to reverse off the ramp, nothing. >>>88 325is 144K
