hi! george,
first of all dont go out and change suspected parts unless they are truly the culpurit. i suggest that you take the car and get the wheels balanced by a reptubale wheel tire place(shimmies when at speed >50mph). if the problem still exists check to make sure that the rotors are not warped(shimmies only when brakes are applied at relativly fair speed<30mph)worst case scenario controll arms and or tie rods need to be replaced.
