: I do not know what type of engine you are talking about but i was having the same problem on my 88 325i, change airflow meter, idle control valve, 2 new sets of spark plugs, new distribuitor, new wires, new battery, new rotor, spend a fortune and did not solve the problem, but refuse to take to the dealer, i was even thinking of selling the car ship, but one day decide to change the motronic unit and all the problems gone, no more overheating and no more idle problems.
: PS. sad part about it that the motronic unit was sitting in my garage for about two years.
: HOPE THIS HELP, ASK A FRIEND TO LET YOU THE MOTRONIC UNIT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.
