anyone know speed of `87 325 eta? (archive)

Firstly thanks to all who have answered my (probably) naïve questions about the 325e. Unfortunately the eta is fairly rare here in Europe and information is hard to come by. I will therefore ask some more questions! :
1) What is the official 0-60mph time for an unmodified manual `87 325e?
2) What is the official top speed?
3) What difference will a Dinan chip make to the above figures?
4) Is it true to say that such a chip upgrade pushes the engine harder in order to gain higher output, but in doing so increases the rate of engine wear?
5) And finally (phew!!) exactly what does a chip change involve (i.e. can an amateur like me change the chip at home)?
