Exhaust for '87 325 (archive)

My nephew's 325 needs a new exhaust system. He doesn't have loads of dough, so I'm looking for a "cost effective" solution to an old, leaky exhaust system. Assuming the exhaust manifold is O.K., please offer your suggestions as to the following:

1. Which aftermarket system?
2. Fair cost, including installation?
3. Suppliers/installers in West L.A.?
