The 2-piece BBS wheels as found on the Golf are indeed very nice wheels. I had a set on my 1969 race 2002. But sold them. A friend of mine bought a set with decent tires for $550 CDN, around $375 US. They are more available in Canada, as we had many more Golf GTis than American did.
Just be carefull with these BBS wheels. They are VERY soft. Do not even try a pothole at slow speed. When they were available new in the beggining, they retailled for more than $500 apiece. Owners were so pissed off by their softness and high price, that VW reduced by half the reatail price for those who replaced them after they got bent...
