Jon,

I tried everything and nothing worked. Finally gave up. Last fall I spent 12 hours washing, polishing, and waxing the skin and during the process i hit the fake chrome with each step, don't know which one did it but I was using Maguires brand, step 1, 2 and 3(cleaner,polish and wax).It didn't do a spectacular job but it's better than it's been for the last 3 years. I've tried steel wool, vinegar, polish and every class of cleanser. Wouldn't recommend you go out and buy three bottles of this stuff, maybe you have something similar in your garage.
