: Jon,
: I tried everything and nothing worked. Finally gave up. Last fall I spent 12 hours washing, polishing, and waxing the skin and during the process i hit the fake chrome with each step, don't know which one did it but I was using Maguires brand, step 1, 2 and 3(cleaner,polish and wax).It didn't do a spectacular job but it's better than it's been for the last 3 years. I've tried steel wool, vinegar, polish and every class of cleanser. Wouldn't recommend you go out and buy three bottles of this stuff, maybe you have something similar in your garage.

Don't waste your time, I've tried tons of things and nothing ever worked. A friend of mine bought some replacement trim pieces from BMP Design (www.bmpd.com) and it worked great. Get there tool and the job goes much faster.
